Terminology

BactoBox®

Refers to either a BactoBox® device or a BactoBox® setup. Use BactoBox® when the context doesn't require further explanation.

BactoBox® device

The 240×140×60 mm device itself. References just the device and no consumables or accessories.

BactoBox® setup

The combination of several items: A BactoBox® device, its consumables, and its accessories. Together, these items form a BactoBox® setup.

The main items in a BactoBox® setup are:

Perform a QC test whenever you replace one of these items!

Flow cell compartment

The flow cell compartment is the space just under the flow cell cover. This is where we put the flow cell.

Install flow cell

The flow cell compartment reveals the PCB including electrical pogo pins and the inlet/outlet for the liquid. Both the electrical and liquid pathways are very delicate, which is why we protect them with the flow cell cover against dust, spills, etc.

Always put the flow cell cover back in place over the flow cell compartment
