Chemical compatibility

Your BactoBox® setup consists of various materials. We choose these materials to ensure wide-ranged chemical compatibility.

BactoBox® is compatible with all of SBT's own chemicals and liquids

Use SBT's own Disinfection vial and Deep clean vial for maintenance purposes.

Third party chemicals

If your use cases requires a third party chemical, we can not guarantee chemical compatibility.

We advice you to consult the list of wetted materials below and make your own chemical compatibility assessment.

Please reach out to SBT for instructions on performing a worst-case exposure test.

Use of third party chemicals voids the warranty

Your third party chemical may irreparably damage your BactoBox® setup.

Limit exposure

If the worst-case exposure test does not lead to damage if critical components, you should still follow the below recommendations to limit exposure.

• Use the smallest concentration possible

• Expose your BactoBox® setup for the shortest amount of time

Use a Disinfection vial afterwards

Run the Clean program with a Disinfection vial to wash out any remnants of your third party chemical.

Wetted materials

Below is an incomplete list of wetted materials in your BactoBox® setup.

Some materials in BactoBox® are part of SBT's intellectual property. Therefore, we can not mention all materials.

You can use this list to rule out chemicals. However, you can not use this list to definitely answer questions about chemical compatibility.

Chemicals NOT compatible with BactoBox®

Below is an incomplete list of third party chemicals that are NOT compatible with BactoBox®. Concentrated and diluted solutions of these chemicals may cause irreversible damage to the BactoBox® setup. Do not use these.

• Sodium hypochlorite (bleach)

• Mucasol

• Alkaline solutions exceeding pH 10
