This page teaches you how to replace the syringe filter on your dilution dispenser.

Replace the syringe filter at the start of each day

Even within a single day, the syringe filter clogs after repeated use. If it feels like you need to press harder to dispense, replace the syringe filter.

Each syringe filter typically clogs after 200–500 mL of liquid dispensed (20–50 dispenses of 10 mL).

Indications of clogged syringe filter

A squeaking sound may indicate a clogged syringe filter. Replace the syringe filter if squeaking occurs to maintain accurate and fluent dispensing.

Get things ready

You need these items:

• 1 × dilution dispenser (see Assemble dilution dispenser)

• 1 × syringe filter

• 1 × empty vial

Step by step

Uninstall old syringe filter

Unscrew the old syringe filter from the Luer lock adapter on the ejection unit.

Be careful not to unscrew the Luer lock adapter itself from the ejection unit.

Install new syringe filter

Screw the new syringe filter onto the Luer lock adapter on the ejection unit.

Confirm volume

Dispense once and discard it. It's likely that the volume is wrong for this first dispense.

Dispense a second time. Confirm that it fills the vial to the 10 mL mark.

Remember to replace the syringe filter at the start of each day.
