Bulk liquid is not sterile

The 5 L container is not sterile. The syringe filter sterile-filters the liquid as it leaves the dispenser, so never dispense without one.

Do not store filled vials

Fill only the vials you are about to use. A filled vial must not be kept overnight, because growth develops in it and skews your result.

Cold storage is not a fix. It may slow the growth, but it also takes the conductivity outside the range BactoBox® needs, and the measurement fails.
