## When you need one

Use QC stock to [make a QC vial](/getting-started/qc-test/make-qc-vial.md). In turn, use the [QC vial](/item-register/vials-you-prepare/qc-vial.md) to [perform a QC test](/getting-started/qc-test.md).

A pack of two vials makes about 18 QC vials, at 101 µL of stock each. Run a QC test at least once a week, and after every deep clean. See [QC test](/getting-started/qc-test.md) for the full list of when to run one.
