Only exists in a Do It Yourself (DIY) variant since it contains *your* *own sample*. See [Make sample vial](/advanced/advanced-sample-preparation/make-sample-vial.md).

## Use cases

Measure your sample vial with BactoBox®. See [What can I measure on?](/advanced/measurements-explained/what-can-i-measure-on.md).

{% hint style="warning" %}

## Your sample vial is for *single use* only

Once you run the liquid through BactoBox®, the properties change *significantly*.

**Always discard your sample vial after use!**
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}

## What is a *vial*?

In SBT terms, an empty vial is a 15 mL conical centrifuge tube.

BactoBox® connects to a vial via the [tubing kit](/item-register/accessories/tubing-kit.md). See the [vial rack](/item-register/accessories/vial-rack.md) for a convenient way to store vials.
{% endhint %}
