Download the software update file

Click the button below to download the latest software update (.swu) file to your computer:

This software update file works for hardware v7.5 and later.

Hardware v7.4 and earlier

You must upgrade your hardware version to get software updates. Contact us for more information.

There is a sticker on the bottom of BactoBox® that shows the hardware version.

Alternatively, you can see the hardware version in the System info menu screen on BactoBox®. See Menu system.

Connect to Access

Follow the instructions in Connect to Access.

Navigate to the Software update page

Click Software update in Access' page navigation.

Update the software on BactoBox®

Drag-and-drop the software update file into the field.

The software update starts immediately and takes 2–5 min.

That is it!

When the installation is done, your BactoBox® prompts you to restart the device.

On the first start after a software update, you may see a data migration phase. This can take another 5–10 min. Once migration is done, your BactoBox® shows the Ready screen as usual.

Compatibility

The software version depends on the BactoBox® hardware version. See the section above for details. If you attempt to update the software on incompatible hardware, the software update process stops immediately without damage to BactoBox® or your data.

We do not support software downgrades

The internal data format changes together with the software. The update process migrates the old format into the latest format.

This makes software updates a one-way street. You can not downgrade to an earlier software version. Downgrades may render your BactoBox® unusable and your data lost.

Instead, use backup & restore to roll back. This requires a backup from before you update.
