# Download device data bundle

Save a device data bundle to your computer when our support team asks for one.

A support case can include a device data bundle when you check that option. Download one yourself only when our support team asks for it.

{% hint style="info" %}
Curious about what a [device data bundle](/software/file-formats/device-data-bundle-ddb.md) reveals? See [what data is shared with SBT](/software/miscellaneous/what-data-is-shared-with-sbt.md).
{% endhint %}

## Step by step

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Connect to Access

Follow [Connect to Access](/more/software/connect-to-access.md).
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Open the *Support* page

Click *Support* in the side bar of Access. Scroll to the *Download device data bundle* section at the bottom.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Choose the measurements

Use the filter to choose the measurement data to include. If in doubt, select *Last 30 days*.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Download

Click *Download device data bundle*. Wait a few seconds for the *Save file* dialog, choose a folder, and click *Save*. If in doubt, choose your *Downloads* folder.

The file name holds your BactoBox® ID and the date, for example `bb2241039-2025-10-21.zip`.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Send it to us

Send the file the way our support team asked. A bundle can be too large for an e-mail.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.sbtinstruments.com/troubleshooting/contact-support/download-device-data-bundle.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
