Serological pipette, preferably 2 or 5 mL (not supplied).
Serological pipette controller (not supplied).
Shaking incubator (not supplied).
Certified reference material (CRM): Escherichia coli WDCM 00013 Vitroids™ (not supplied).
250 mL shake flask with 50 mL autoclaved LB medium. Preferably baffled shake flask with vented cap.
2 × dilution vials ready-to-use.
1 × disinfection vial.
With these things in hand, you are ready to for the next step: Inoculate LB medium.
