  2. The diluent is in a separate cardboard box.

Do not use sharp objects to open the box

Step by step

1

Assemble ejection unit

Insert the ejection unit (E) into the dispenser's ejection valve until it stops.

Then, turn the union nut clockwise until it is firmly in place.

2

Assemble suction tube on dispenser valve

Slightly pull back the union nut from the suction tube (C) as shown.

Push the tube in until the plastic collar reaches the stop.

Turn the union nut clockwise to tighten onto the valve mantle.

3

Install recirculation tube

Insert the small recirculation tube (D) firmly into the designated hole on the dispenser head.

Ensure that the nozzle faces away from the suction tube (C).

4

Mount dispenser and syringe filter

Screw the assembled unit, including the adapter (F), onto the 5 L flask.

Screw the 0.22 µm TPP syringe filter (G) onto the Luer lock adapter.

5

Vent the dispenser

Turn the valve so the arrow points opposite the ejection unit (E).

Pull the piston fully to the stop, then press it down completely.

Perform the pull-and-press motion 3–5 times until no bubbles are visible in the observation window.

6

Dispense liquid

Turn the valve toward the ejection unit.

Place a 15 mL centrifuge tube under the syringe filter.

Pull the piston up to the stop.

Let the syringe filter outlet touch the side of the tube, then press the piston gently but firmly down until fully depressed.

Use a new vial and repeat steps 2–4 until you reach 10 mL. The 10 mL mark on the 15 mL centrifuge vial provides a quick volume check.

Notes

Use only with SBT's dilution liquid

This unit is designed exclusively for dispensing SBT's dilution liquid.

Filter usage

Each filter typically lasts one day or for 200-500 mL of liquid dispensed.

Daily filter replacement

Over time, bacteria may grow in syringe filters and lead to unwanted background. Replace the filter at the start of each day.

Indications of clogged filter

A squeaking sound may indicate a clogged syringe filter. Replace the filter if squeaking occurs to maintain accurate and fluent dispensing.

Venting and air removal

If less than 10 mL dispenses through the filter, repeat venting and air removal and/or replace the 0.22 µm filter. The 10 mL mark on the centrifuge tubes serve
